A New England Home

Good morning friends! Today I wanted to share a home tour that stopped me in my tracks. It is seriously so gorgeous, and every detail is perfection. It's classic and polished while still feeling cozy and inviting.

This home was featured in New England Homes magazine. I first spotted a few of the images on Pinterest and had to investigate.

I love that the decor is so clean and paired down. It's elegant and refined by letting a few choice items make a statement.

Antique linens made into lavender sachets rest in an ironstone tureen.

Love the pop of soft blue.

Every detail is perfect and I'm completely in love with that gray hutch.

The kitchen is modern yet classic, as antiques mix with stainless steel.

Love the bold look of the navy wall.

A reclaimed dresser makes the perfect home for a bathroom vanity.

A cozy reading nook gets a pop of red.

Wouldn't you just love to live here? I know I would! You can read the full article here.

A Pleased Customer

Friends, today I wanted to share with you an experience I had with an online decor company, Wuslu. Probably most of you have heard of them, as Miss Mustard Seed works with them often, and their stuff is all over the blog/decor world. In case you haven't heard about them yet, Wuslu offers one decor item per day at a killer price. Their products are always unique, vintage-inspired and lovely. I've gotten their daily emails for a while and am always excited to see what the deal is each morning.

I recently ordered this French grain sack memo board from them for a great price. But when I paid for the item, there was a bit of a glitch with my order. It wasn't a big deal and I wasn't upset, I simply sent the company an email inquiring about the error.

To my surprise and delight, they quickly refunded my entire purchase price, and still sent me the memo board. I hadn't even asked for a full refund. Their words were "we never want our customers to feel that we are trying to trick them." Wow! What an awesome response in the world of big, impersonal companies like amazon, etc. I have to say I am totally and completely blown away and impressed by their service, professionalism and heart for their customers.

I just wanted to pass this information on to you, because as a small business owner, I believe in supporting the small, family owned businesses out there. Because of their treatment of me, and going above and beyond the call of duty, they have earned a customer for life and a raving fan of their business. I will continue to purchase from them from now on.

I also love the memo board I received from them, and the quality and artistry is beautiful. It now hangs in my hallway and even Matt commented on it the first time he saw it. It's rare for him to notice a new piece of decor so I think that says a lot : )

If you haven't checked out Wuslu yet, you can see their past daily deals on their website, or follow them on Facebook for the latest news. I can't recommend this company enough, and I just know you'll love what they have to offer and the customer service that comes with the great products. Happy shopping!

A Bridal Shower

One of my greatest joys is being able to honor and celebrate my friends as they get engaged, married and have babies. Being 24, I'm right in the middle of the marriage/baby season of life, so I get the privilege of hosting showers and parties often. One of my dearest friends is getting married in May and I had the honor of throwing her a "personal" shower a few weeks ago.

{the bride, Miss Sarah}

Sarah is a really special person I wish you could all meet. She is the epitome of style, grace and class. I think she could even give Audrey Hepburn a run for her money in the elegance department : ) She's always dressed gorgeously, and is one of the prettiest girls you'll ever meet. Her personality is soft, quiet, sweet and charming. She's one of those friends you count among your richest blessings.

To throw a shower for a girl like this is no small task. I wanted it to fit her personality and style, and be something she would truly enjoy and treasure. I also wanted it to be coral. Not pink : ) Her wedding colors are coral, peaches, pinks and gray, so I wanted to carry that theme through to the shower as well. I didn't want it to end up looking like a pastel baby shower or a hot pink bachelorette though...coral was the name of the game! I created a pinterest board for some inspiration, which you can see here.

We celebrated in style at a local restaurant, Ya Ya's, in their private party room. This was a great backdrop to a fun evening with friends, delicious foods and drinks, and lots of laughter.

{Paige "helping" me get ready for the shower...aka enjoying a nice glass of wine!}

Our other dear friend Paige {you can read all about her and see her house here} helped me pull off the evening and it was a huge success!

The table centerpieces were simple bouquets of white hydrangeas, coral roses and coral astramaris, placed in silver mint julep cups.

Everyone had a gray stripe straw and a coral drink flag at their place, to add a festive pop of color.

One thing I had a terrible time finding was coral tissue paper to make the paper poms with. Those did end up being pink because I searched high and low for coral tissue paper with no luck. I don't think she minded though : )

The star of the show was the coral cupcakes with flower icing and pearl accents.

One of my other good friends Karis has a bakery out of her home, Genschies, and produces the most amazing baked goods ever!

Can you even believe how stunning those cupcakes are?! They don't even look real! And they were just as delicious as they were beautiful!

She also did red velvet cake balls (the bride's favorite dessert) in shades of white and coral.

{the hostesses...not my favorite photo of myself, but it's the only one we got!}

{lovely bride}

{she has a sassy side, trust me!}

We had so much fun together that evening! The food was delicious and I think we all laughed til our sides hurt. Sarah got beautiful gifts...none of which I can show you here ; )

All the partiers celebrating a fun evening and honoring a beautiful friend!

And just for fun, here's a picture of all Sarah's bridesmaids at another shower the next day. What a fun group of girls!

Sarah, we can't wait until your big day on May 12! We wish you and Nate every bit of happiness in your life together! Love you, friend!

The Cottage Collective

Hello girls! What a whirlwind week it has been! We had our "soft opening" of the shop last Thursday, and threw a party for our friends and family to come and be the first to shop The Cottage. This also gave us a great chance to work out the kinks with the check out/credit card process, and get a feel for how things will sell. It was an amazing night to say the least! Next to my wedding it was truly the most exhilarating, exhausting, exciting night of my life.

We had the fabulous Sara of Sara Mac photography capture the space beautifully before we opened, and I wanted to share those photos with you today. Please join me on a tour of The Cottage Collective : ) I'm just going to warn you there are a TON of pictures...it doesn't seem like as many in a Facebook album but it's a lot on a blog...sorry! Just for some background, there are 7 vendors. Abbe of All Dolled Up and I sell out of the same space (she does furniture and I do smalls) and the other girls have their own "rooms." So that's why each picture looks totally different...each girl has her own unique style that is amazing! Trying to mix it all together though would be chaos...haha. So each is a separate, special space. It truly makes up a unique, vibrant shopping experience to have so many different "boutiques" in one place.

You'll get a beautifully wrapped package when you shop The Cottage : )

Fun party straws from Paper Goods Creative

Gorgeous baby flower bows/clips

This is one of my favorite rooms...Tiffany of A Lady With A Baby. She makes phenomenal handmade pillows, wreaths, totes, aprons, bibs and more. Don't you just want it all?!

This is part of the kitchen area where the "colorful" stuff is. Whites and neutrals are out front in the main room.

Part of Mindy of Marigold Road's space...so fun and colorful! She has awesome retro homewares and darling handmade accessories.

This is some of my stuff : )

Me again

Love the bold black and white look Abbe created.

Poema Creations' space. She makes the most incredible jewelry out of polymer clay. She hand makes each bead and will also teach classes on her techniques. How cool!

Doesn't the Paper Goods' space just make you want to throw a party?

There it is! The Cottage! The thing my heart has been longing for for years and it's finally a reality! I got to work there all day Saturday and it was such a joy to watch women shop and enjoy the space.

For the locals, our Grand Opening is March 30 and you can learn more here. Hopefully the pictures have convinced you, but trust me, you'll want to come join us! : )

I wanted to say a quick thank you to those of you who so sweetly commented on my last post ... it really meant a lot to me because that week was definitely the height of my "I'm so stressed I think I'll pass out" phase (in case you couldn't tell : ) Thanks so much for your support and understanding!
